Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Avatar Races

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 races are the first slider you should take seriously, because Awoken Skills are race-specific and you cannot pair them with Soul Switch on the same loadout. Launch count is six. Android is the newcomer. Hirano’s Gamescom 2026 interview said the team does not yet know if more races will be added later, and that all six can awaken so nobody is a permanent base-form tourist. Rankings: race tier list. Earthling

Earthling is the demo workhorse. Polygon’s hands-off look spent most of its time on an Earthling CaC in West City. Official gameplay video contrasts an Earthling using Goku-motion strings against a Saiyan using Vegeta-motion strings, which is the point: Earthling is a canvas for Fighting Styles. If you want to look like a university student and fight like Hit or Whis, this is the straightforward pick. Awoken name for Earthlings has been marketed as a Super Warrior-style path in combat copy — we will use the in-game skill title when a menu screenshot is public.

Earthling is also the easiest race to explain to a friend at a Road Tour booth: no Saiyan hair politics, full access to the mentor Skill Tree, same Ki HUD as everyone else.

Saiyan

Saiyan is the marketing race. Hands-off coverage explicitly called out Super Saiyan 3. Awoken stacking (second awaken, second heal) is the Saiyan fantasy even if other races share the same gauge rule. Official ability example Saiyan Mettle: All Abilities increases all stats after you are revived — which pairs with the three-knockdown rule on How to Play.

If you pick Saiyan and Soul Switch, you are choosing to skip that hair stack for a Vegeta or Piccolo burst. Plenty of people will still do it. Just know the fork.

Namekian

Namekian is confirmed in the six and confirmed to awaken. Regeneration, reach, and Piccolo-adjacent Fighting Styles are the expected fantasy. Piccolo himself is already a Soul Switch example and a Fighting Style example, so Namekian players who also house Piccolo are doubling down on one silhouette. That is a fashion choice, not a hidden buff — Dimps has not published race-soul synergy numbers.

Frieza Race

Frieza Race returns from prior Xenoverse titles. Golden-form expectations are community inference from series history, not a posted XV3 stat card. Play it if you want a smaller hurtbox fantasy and a villain-coded university student. Ki Break still exists for you; being Frieza-coded does not let you skip Perfect Guard. See Combat.

Majin

Majin returns with the same “all races awaken” promise. Absorption and body-type jokes from Xenoverse 2 do not automatically carry. Until an Awoken trailer names the Majin form, assume you get a unique visual and the shared Ki-timer-less rule. Good pick if you like stretchy silhouettes in West City plazas.

Android (new)

Android is the September 2026 headline. Fight Your Way showed Android CaCs alongside the other five. Important: Androids still sit on the Ki HUD. Do not import Android 17 “infinite energy” lore into Ki Charge. They awaken. They can Soul Switch instead. They collect MistyPix like everyone else. If you want the new race because it is new, that is a valid reason — just learn controls instead of assuming beam spam without a gauge.

Shared rules that beat racial trivia

• Six at launch, maybe more later — not Kai, not Demon, not that comment-section wishlist.
• Awoken lasts while Ki remains; Ki Break knocks you out of it.
• Soul Switch ignores race and deletes the awaken slot.
• Abilities can be race-gated (Saiyan Mettle is the named example).
• Fighting Styles are not race-gated in the articles; Ginyu on an Earthling is the joke Dimps wants you to make.

How to choose without a meta

There is no ranked ladder yet. Choose in this order:

1. Which awaken do you want to look at for twenty hours?
2. Are you willing to drop it for a soul? If yes, race is mostly a hub skin plus a few abilities.
3. Which official ability examples excite you?
4. Then peek at the race tier list as a conversation, not a command.

Saiyan will be over-represented in 2027 footage. Android will be over-represented in “new race” thumbnails. Earthling will probably be the sleeper for people who care about Fighting Style. None of that is a patch note.
